In all the baby books I have been reading, they all recommend sleeping on your left side with a pillow wedged between your knees. Apparently you should avoid sleeping on your back since the weight of the baby resting on your two major arteries can cut off the circulation to your legs. Last night I got into bed, assumed the position, and wedged a pillow between my knees. Most mornings I wake to find the pillow abandoned on the floor at some point in the middle of the night. This morning, however, I woke up and found I had been sleeping on my back…and there snoring lightly beside me was D, my boyfriend, lying on his left side with pillow…wedged between his knees.
Mortgage!!! July 28, 2006
Oh good god…I signed a gazillion documents today and now I own a freakin’ house with D! I’m a homeowner and knocked up by my boyfriend…life has certainly changed over the past year….lots of changes. What freaks me out more than the house and the baby on the way though…in this moment….is the 2k I just spent on “big kid” furniture. I just bought a dining room set and a couch AND a chair! All that for some reason, finally makes me feel like an adult. Check back in with me after I push out this little girl of ours though. Different story then I’m sure.
Who’s an ass? July 20, 2006
About a month ago I wrote about how my upstair neighbor was sexually assaulted and how I ended up crying on HER shoulder as she told me th story….well who’s an ass now?
Woman made false rape claims:
PORTSMOUTH — A woman police say made bogus claims of being sexually assaulted was arrested Monday night on a misdemeanor charge of “filing a false report to law enforcement.”
She is alleged to have told police on June 16 that she’d been sexually assaulted and wished to pursue criminal charges. Portsmouth Police Capt. Janet Champlin said detectives made numerous efforts to contact the man ’she’ accused of the assault, but when their calls went unanswered and police were unable to locate the suspect, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
“He was about to be arrested,” said a Portsmouth detective.
Champlin said the man heard about the warrant and went to the police station to turn himself in. While there, he was interviewed by detectives and offered “a different version of the events,” said Champlin.
Detectives then interviewed the accuser again, during which “she admitted the report was false,” said Champlin.
“Without getting into details, it’s not that something didn’t happen. We’re alleging that aggravated felonious sexual assault didn’t occur,” said Champlin. When confronted with the accused man’s report, Champlin said, she “said it was not an assault.”
Once wanted by police on the sexual assault charge, the local man is now considered the victim.
Champlin said she could not comment on a possible motive, citing the department’s wish to keep details of the case confidential until it goes to court. She said the couple did not have a dating relationship, and that aspect of the story is also part of the police case.
Several police detectives worked many hours of overtime following ’her’ assault report, said Champlin, adding her department will seek restitution while prosecuting ‘her’.
“It does a disservice to real victims,” said the detective. “We are very aggressive about arresting people, but you have to have probable cause. We believe victims until proven otherwise. Our job is to find out the truth.”
Kathy Beebe, executive director of Sexual Assault Support Services, cites national statistics showing two percent of reported sexual assaults are false. Beebe also said her data shows just 16 percent of sexual assaults are reported to police.
“That’s my concern,” said Beebe. “I hope it doesn’t discourage victims from coming forward, when it’s already under-reported.”
Following her arrest, ’she’ was released on $750 personal recognizance bail. She is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 14 in Portsmouth District Court.
One week till we move….just one more week!!!

Sew her up July 6, 2006
As I posted below, our dog was attacked last week by another dog. Though ours managed to escape with a couple of staples, the other dog didn’t do so well. We found out that the same night the Mastif bit our dog (because he was off his leash and running free) he also ran into the middle of the road and was hit by a big truck. The “shemale” that owns him brought the broken barely alive dog home. D happened to know someone who lives in the same building as this girl so we found out what she did. She brought that dog home, laid him down in the middle of her floor, lit come candles, spread some crystals around and hoped to heal him or at the very least ease his passing. She asked he neighbors upstairs to bring down their dog because this might make the mastif feel better. They came down and saw the dog, blood coming out of his mouth, suffering. They urged her, more like demanded, she bring the dog to the vet to end it’s suffering. I don’t think she did, since she told them she was helping him “pass”. And he did die, suffering I guess.
After hearing this D said “She needs to have her cooter sewed shut”. Clearly this girl should never have children. Me? I just want to tie her to the back of my car and drive her up and down the street. That poor poor dog…he never stood a chance with an owner like that.
